Child Safety Standards
Last updated August 19, 2026
Valentree is an adults-only service. We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) everywhere on Valentree, we act on every report we receive, and we report confirmed material to the authorities. These are our published standards against CSAE.
Valentree is for adults only
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Valentree account, attend an event, or host one. This is stated in our Terms of Service. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove that account.
What we prohibit
We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. The following are never allowed on Valentree, in profiles, event listings, photos, chat, or at the meetups themselves:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in any form and for any reason.
- Sexualizing, soliciting, or sexually propositioning a minor.
- Grooming a minor, or using Valentree to arrange contact with a minor for a sexual purpose.
- Sextortion, or threatening to share a person's intimate images.
- Trafficking of minors, or advertising or arranging it.
- Content that promotes, normalizes, or glorifies any of the above.
These rules apply whether or not the person involved has a Valentree account, and they are part of our Community Guidelines.
How to report CSAE
Anyone can report a person to us from inside the app: open their profile and tap Report this person. You can add a reason and attach the photos you are reporting as evidence. Reports go to our moderation team.
You can also email us at moderation@valentree.com. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
How we respond
We review every CSAE report we receive. When a report is substantiated we remove the content, permanently remove the account and block the person from creating a new one, preserve the relevant records as required by law, and refer the matter to NCMEC and to law enforcement where appropriate. We may take these steps immediately, before a review is complete, when we believe a child is at risk.
Legal compliance
Valentree LLC complies with applicable child safety laws in the places where we operate, including United States federal reporting obligations to NCMEC under 18 U.S.C. Section 2258A. We cooperate with valid law enforcement requests relating to child safety.
Child safety point of contact
Google, law enforcement, and child safety organizations can reach our designated child safety contact at moderation@valentree.com. Valentree LLC is based in Washington, United States. We aim to respond to child safety inquiries within 3 business days.
