FAQ

Questions, before the first table.

Valentree is preparing for early community access. If your question is not here, write to us — a person answers.

The basics

What is Valentree?

A way to meet a few people in person without a crowd. Members host or join tiny gatherings — one host, up to four guests — with a clear plan and a clear time.

Is this a dating app?

No. Plans are group gatherings, not dates, and there is no matching or swiping. People come to talk to a few people at once.

Why five people?

Five is the largest group that still holds one conversation. Above it a table splits and someone ends up outside it; below three, one cancellation ends the evening.

What does it cost?

Joining Valentree is free during early access. You pay for your own coffee, ticket, or picnic contribution, and hosts never charge for a seat.

Joining an event

How do I get a spot?

Send a short request with a line about yourself. The host approves the final group, then the event chat opens and the exact address is shared with confirmed attendees.

What if I am declined?

Hosts are building a specific table, so declines happen and carry no penalty. You can request any other plan straight away.

Can I cancel?

Yes, free up to 12 hours before. After that it counts as a late cancellation, and repeat no-shows lose access to plans — with four other people counting on you, reliability is the whole product.

Will I know who else is coming?

Always. Once you are confirmed you see the other approved guests and can talk to the group before you arrive.

Hosting

Who can host?

Any verified member who agrees to the host standards. Hosts are reviewed before their first plan goes live. Hosting details.

Do I need to host at home?

No — first gatherings happen in public places. Cafes, parks, markets and galleries make better first plans than living rooms.

How much work is it?

About two minutes to post, a few minutes to read requests, and arriving first on the day. Nothing needs booking or catering.

Trust and safety

How are members verified?

Phone verification plus a real profile with a real photo. Profiles that look fake do not get approved.

Does Valentree run background checks?

No. Valentree provides product safeguards, reporting, and community expectations, but meeting in person always requires personal judgment. Read the Safety tips before attending.

Who sees the exact address?

Only confirmed attendees. Public listings show the neighborhood and the meeting area, never the full address.

What happens when I report someone?

A person reviews it. You can report how someone behaved at an event you shared, or a host who did not show up — and blocking is silent: the other member is not told. Safety tips.

What happens when I open an event link?

When the browser hands an event link to an installed app, it opens the plan in Valentree. Otherwise, the browser shows the event fallback and keeps the same event URL intact.

Early access

Where is Valentree available?

We are opening city by city, starting in Washington. Tell us where you are and we will let you know when there are enough members nearby to fill a table.

How do I get in?

Install Valentree from the App Store or Google Play and set up your profile. Early members help shape the first small tables.
