Terms of Service

1. Eligibility - you must be 18+

You must be at least 18 years old to use Valentree. By using the service you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older. Age is a self-declaration; we do not and cannot verify your age, and we are not responsible for users who misrepresent it.

2. What Valentree is

Valentree is a platform that helps people discover and join small, in-person meetups organized by other users. We are not the organizer or host of any event, we do not attend events, and we do not supervise, control, or vet the people you meet or the activities that take place.

3. Your account

You sign in using a third-party provider (such as Google or Apple) and verify a phone number. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in methods secure. You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate anyone or create an account on someone else's behalf.

4. Your conduct and responsibility

You are responsible for your own conduct on Valentree and at meetups, and for your interactions with other people - online and in person. You agree to follow these Terms and our Community Guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms.

5. Prohibited behavior

You agree not to harass, threaten, discriminate against, or harm others; solicit money, sex, or commercial services; post unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, deceptive, or spam content; impersonate anyone; engage in scams or fraud; or use the platform for any illegal or dangerous purpose. 6. Hosts and events

Hosts set reasonable rules for their events, and attendees are expected to follow them. You agree to honor the events you commit to and to follow our cancellation, no-show, and reliability policies. Repeated unreliability or rule violations may limit your access.

7. Moderation, suspension, and termination

We may review, screen, hide, or remove content, and may warn, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines, with or without notice. We may also remove anyone from an event for safety reasons.

8. Account deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Account settings. Deletion begins a short grace period during which you can cancel by signing back in; after that, your personal information is deleted or irreversibly anonymized as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual property

The Valentree app, website, name, logo, and design are owned by Valentree LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws; you may not copy or use them without permission. You retain ownership of the content you post (such as your photo, profile details, events, and messages) and grant Valentree a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and use that content as needed to operate and provide the service. You must have the rights to anything you post.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Valentree and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service or from any interaction with another user, whether online or in person.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Valentree from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, your content, your conduct at events, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Changes to the service and these Terms

We may add, change, or discontinue features at any time, and we may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to resolve disputes in the courts located in Washington, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
